In honor of Mother’s Day, I find it fitting to reflect on who I am, where I came from, and where I am going. I have to say, if it weren’t for my mom’s encouragement, patience, perserverence, enthusiasm, and wisdom, I would not be the self-assured woman that I am today. So thanks mom!
I never saw myself as an artist. Growing up I envied the kids who could draw, paint, and create. I took my camera for granted. I didn’t notice the beauty I was creating. Not until I started photographing my own children. I took for granted that I had VISION. In life, all you need is a little vision, motivation, enthusiasm, and perseverance. My mama raised me to believe in myself, and that’s just what I’m going to do.
never not always been the kind to sit around and day dream. That is, until recently. I’ve been dreaming of ways to enhance our photography portfolio, get our name out, get to know our local vendors, and just be more involved in our photography business in general. I have a bucket list. Not just a life’s bucket list, but a photography bucket list as well. I was sitting going over it the other day feeling helpless and alone. I couldn’t imagine how I would make any of my dreams come true. It’s been a very emotional month for me. I’ve had some hard things happening and I needed to find a way to get out of the swamp my slump.
So. Instead of just dreaming, I decided to start doing. Thanks in part to Jasmine Star’s latest Creative Live Course, I have a new found confidence in my work. I’ve been watching something unfold that is simply amazing. I can’t share details quite yet, but I can say, it’s going to be HUGE and it makes me so amazingly happy.
I’m turning my “can’ts into cans and dreams into plans”. Will you join me on my journey?
